VEHICLE DOCUMENTATION

Make sure all vehicle documentation is to hand when we collect or you deliver the vehicle.

SELLER IDENTIFICATION

It is now a legal requirement to take and keep proof of identity of sellers of scrap vehicles. This can be a UK photocard driving licence or a passport & recent utility bill

LEGAL OWNER

By selling your vehicle to us you confirm that you are the legal owner of the vehicle and have a right to dispose of it

OUTSTANDING FINANCE & LOGBOOK LOANS

We do not buy vehicles with, or settle, outstanding finance

PAYMENT FOR SCRAP CARS

We do NOT pay cash for scrap cars (it is now illegal). Payment is made by cheque or BACS

PAYMENT FOR CARS FOR RESALE

We DO pay cash for cars that we intend to resell as second-hand cars

VEHICLE MUST BE COMPLETE

Quotes are based upon vehicles being complete. If parts are removed then we reserve the right to reject the vehicle or reduce our price

EXCESSIVE DAMAGE

Unless previously agreed, vehicles must not be excessively damaged.

Minor damage (small dents, scrapes, corrosion etc.) due to normal ‘wear and tear’ is fine but heavily accident damaged vehicles may be rejected or the offered quote price reduced.

VEHICLE MUST ROLL

The vehicle must be ‘movable’ – it doesn’t necessarily need to start/drive but it must have 4 wheels with inflated tyres to allow it to be loaded onto our vehicle or towed away

ACCESSIBILITY

The vehicle must be freely ‘accessible’ to our drivers (not blocked in by other vehicles or parked in a very narrow lane, or a height-restricted car park)

RUBBISH IN VEHICLES

Vehicles must not contain rubbish (e.g. household or builders waste). If it does we reserve the right to reject the vehicle or reduce our price

DVLA

It is the seller’s responsibility to inform DVLA of a change of ownership. This should be done using the yellow section (transfer to a motor trader or vehicle dismantler) of the V5, with the remainder of the V5 being given to us.

DATA MANAGEMENT

The data we ask for and you provide to us as part of generating a web quote or in completing a sales/purchase transaction is managed by us in accordance with the GDPR.

The data we request is to enable us to generate a quote for the vehicle, inform DVLA in those cases where vehicles are purchased by us & comply with our legal obligations as a business.

The data is not used for any marketing purposes.

The data is accessible only to authorized persons within the company and is not passed to any 3rd party.

The data is stored securely by us in order to allow us to comply with our legal obligations as a business (including, but not limited to, HMRC, DVLA, SMDA13) and is destroyed when we are no longer legally obliged to retain it. By completing this quote and supplying the requested information you consent to us using and retaining your data for the purposes set out above.
